Experience on Christmas Tournament Held on December 9th 2007 Part 2

Well Goulian here! Grats Kenneth again for reaching 3rd place in this tournament! There is still alot more room for you to reach the top buddy! As for me, I didn't really did well in this tournament this time and got myself at the 46th place! But oh well~ Its still great that our friends manage to reach top 8! =D And I hope everyone in this tournament tried their very best! I did.. and I hope everyone did too! And for those that did not do well in this tournament.. Try your best next time! Okay as for my results. Here it is below!

Elimination Round VS Some Person( Forget the person's name.. Sorry! Gem Beast Deck)
OXO 2:1 Win

Quite an okay game for me that day. Since it was a [Gem Beast] deck, I felt that it was going to be a hard one to go over. Especially when this match is a Elimination Match! Maybe it was lucky that his deck wasn't the same as Kenneth's [Gem Beast] deck. If it was.. Well it might just be Good Game for me! In the first round I Cleared his hand using my [Protector Of The Sanctaury] combo. But in the second round I was bullied by his cats! I blame the [Gem Beast - Topaz Tiger] for killing my [Protector Of The Sanctuary] so easily when its defence is like 1900! And the [Gem Beast - Amenthyst Cat] for direct attacking me so many times! (Ah!!! My FACE!) In the third round.. Since we were left with 5 mins to finish it, I side decked my [Protector Of The Sanctuary] Combo out and put in the [E-HERO Hell Gainer] rush cards in. And I won the match using [E-HERO Dark Gaia]. Nice match!

First Round Swiss VS Yu Hang(Demise OTK)
XX- 0:2 Lose

Due to some error in parrings.. We VS each other during the first round! As I knew before hand that his deck was a Demise OTK Deck.... I wasn't sure if I can handle it. But I lost to him before I am able to defend myself properly against his Demise. And where is my [Envoy Of Hades - Gors] when I needed it badly LOL!

Second Round Swiss VS Some Person(Forget the name again! Destiny-LADD Deck)
OO- 2:0 Win

Again won in the first round because I was able to do my [Protector Of The Sanctuary] combo and killed his hand cards fast enough and also stopping his [D-HERO Diskguy] from drawing the 2 cards that he needed to save him. Won in the second round because of the [E-HERO Hell Gainer] rush combo again ! Nice person and Nice Game too!

Third Round Swiss VS Ivan (Raiza Deck I think? Ivan do tell me again!)
XX- 0:2 Lose

He pratically controlled my field using his 3 copies of [Wind Emperor Raiza] And I was stucked with drawing the same card for 3 rounds! Now I know how those players felt when their hand cards were killed by my combo >.<>

Fourth Round Swiss VS *ding* (Deck: *ding*)
--- 0:0 Default Win

Won because my opponent did not appear for his match. Was very disappointed as I wanna play it till the very last and not winning by default. Oh well.. Not much to comment on about this.

Well as for those wanting to know what I played that day. Here below is my decklist and if you all liked it. Do try it out and tell me how isit =D Decklist Below.

Experience on Christmas Tournament on 9th December 07

Hi guys. Thanks all for your grats and stuff. Really appreciated! Cuz I really never expected myself to even play to top 8... which I have never even been to.

Well anyway, I'm here to share my entire experience for the entire tournament!

I also decided to play Ocean Control instead of my usual Destiny L&DD deck for a change.

Elimination Match vs Someguy(forgot the name liao, dunno wad deck)
2:1 - Win
The worst game that day. Everyone who stood beside me should know my opponent =_=
Anyway, my deck somehow died to a 3k+ att mirage dragon. Basket.

First Round Swiss vs Zon Xu(If I nvr forget the name, DestinyL&DD)
2:0 - Win
He was a really nice guy. And it was a really great game. It was stressful playing against the first L&DD deck that day. He had my lifepoints down to 900 on the first game and 300 on the second! So near to dying. I had to use my solem judgements against that Light & Darkness Dragon! Well, great game anyway.

Second Round Swiss vs WeiQuan(GG/Dad, DestinyL&DD)
2:1 - Win
Abit sad. Since we were going against close friends. But since it was a tournament, we decided to give it our best and it really was! My lifepoints were reduced to 225 on the first game! He secured the second game by controlling me with L&DD and I didn't have any answer to it. I secured the wins with Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo. Thanks dad for the win! I knew I had to make this win worth it.

Third Round Swiss vs Someone =_= (Beatdown deck)
2:0 - Win
I somehow was a little nervous when I saw that Raiou face up on his side deck! It totally kills my Ocean control! So I quickly secured a win on the first round just in case I would die on the next after side-decking. At first, he didn't want to side deck and I was like "Are you sure?!" but he decided to put the Raiou in after I asked him that! T_T
I somehow managed to win with Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo again.

Forth Round Swiss vs Chee Xian(Ocean Beats)
0:2 - Loss
It was the best game that day!!!! It wasn't exactly a mirror game if you asked me. But we had some similiar cards. I died badly becus his monster removal cards were ALOT more than mine. And he played Gors! Which I didn't. Anyway, it was really exciting. There was even a point where I was struggling to survive at 25 lifepoints on the first game! The second game ended really fast because his Injection Fairy Lily killed me quite badly.

Top 8
First Round Top 8 vs Someone(I forgot this guy's name, ZombieRush)
2:0 - Win
Was a fast game. Cuz one Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo killed his entire deck.

Second Round Top 8 vs Yong Siang (DestinyL&DD)
0:2 - Loss
His luck too power already! Heavy Storm on both first turns. It blew away my anti-sac mask =_= basket! and he killed off my Airman so that the deck just died.

Third Round Top 8 vs Mickey (Beatdown Deck) (for 3rd & 4th place)
2:0 - Win
Dunno how I won. I really forgot le. I just remembered it was a really fierce game too. And we had to rush for time as we were running out of time.

Card Reviews: 4 Cards in 1 Review!

Hey all! Sorry that Duel Society wasn't updated for a very long time... My deepest apologies as the 2 of us Blog masters are busy with work and school. So we hadn't had time to type our reviews. (Actually it was me that haven done my review, so kenneth can't type it till my turn is over lol =X sorry ken!) So in order to compensate for the tons of late reviews that was supposed to be posted earlier... I decided to do a 4 in 1 card review post! The cards that will be in this post are... [Hand Severing] , [E-HERO Hell Brat], [Hero's Rule 2] and [Fusion Decimation]! Here I go!

First up is...

DP07-JP022
[Hand Severing]
Quick-Play Magic
Both players send 2 cards from their respective hands to the graveyard, and then draw 2 cards from their respective decks.

Now this was a card used by Yubel-Johan, and quite a "strong" card to boast about in refreshing both player's hand cards, although the player that activated this [Hand Severing] will have a disadvantage of losing 1 card rather than the opponent, which loses no hand cards and gets the benefits of refreshing their hand. However, there are ways that will devastate your opponent on unabling to draw cards from the effects from [Hand Severing] if you combo this card with a monster card called [Protector Of The Sanctuary] as it doesn't allow your opponent to draw cards outside of the draw phase. But do note that when [Protector Of The Sanctuary] is on the field, you are unable to activate any cards that lets your opponent draw cards outside of the draw phase too.. But there is a loop hole =D.. Lets just give a simple example!

Chain 1 : Activate [Hand Severing]

Chain 2: Activate [Call Of The Haunted] Select [Protector Of The Sanctuary] as the target

Resolving:

Chain 2 Resolves: Special Summons [Protector Of The Sanctuary] onto the field.

Chain 1 Resolves: Both players send 2 cards from their hands to the grave. Due to [Protector Of The Sanctuary] effect. Your opponent sends 2 cards from his or her hand to the graveyard and is unable to draw 2 new cards from his or her deck. But the controller of [Protector Of The Sanctuary] is able to draw 2 new cards from his or her deck. =D Sweet combo? LOL!

Or another nice combo will be sending 2 [D-HERO Dashguy] to the graveyard during the draw phase and hope that the 2 new cards that are drawn from the deck will be monster cards. So that you are able to special summon them onto the field using [D-HERO Dashguy] effect.

And do note another important word in [Hand Severing] effect. It is "Send" 2 cards from the hand to the graveyard, and not "Discard" 2 cards from the hand to the graveyard. So [Dark World] monsters users. Do not get a wrong idea on using this card to summon out [Dark World] monsters easily ya.

And 2nd in place will be...

DP06-JP009
[E-HERO Hell Brat]
Attribute: Dark, Type: Demon
Effect Monster , 2 Stars, Atk 300/ Def 600
When there are no monsters existing on your side of the field, you can special summon this card onto your side of the field in attack position. If this card was used as a sacrifice to normal summon a [HERO] monster, draw 1 card from your deck during this turn's end phase.

Ah! One of Ha-Oh Judai's Evil Heroes! And this is one Evil Hero that is quite powerful. Besides having a special summon effect that may be stronger than [Cyber Dragon] special summon effect. This card allows the player to normal summon a high level [HERO] monster in the first turn. Like an example will be... Special summon [E-HERO Hell Brat] and then sacrifice it for [HERO] monsters that needs 1 monster sacrifice to be normal summoned out like [D-HERO Dashguy], [E-HERO Necro Darkman] and [E-HERO Malicious Edge]. And then drawing a card during the turn you sacrificed [E-HERO Hell Brat] to normal summon a [HERO] monster.

Do note that if you sacrificed [E-HERO Hell Brat] to normal summon other kinds of monsters like [Wind Emperor Raiza] , its effect will not activate to allow you to draw 1 card from your deck during that turn's end phase. And also if you sacrificed [E-HERO Hell Brat] to special summon [D-HERO Bloo-D] , you will also not be able to draw 1 card during that turn's end phase as the [HERO] monster that sacrificed [E-HERO Hell Brat] has to be normal summoned and not special summoned.

Another combo will be... Since [E-HERO Hell Brat] is 1 of the only Evil Heroes to be a Dark Attribute. Cards like [Crush Card Virus] will work pretty well for it since it has a low attack strength. There are actually more potential in using this card. But I guess its better for you guys to find out yourselves! =X Next!

3rd in place...

DP06-JP030
[Hero's Rule 2]
Counter Trap
Negate the activation of a Monster card effect, Magic or Trap card's effects that targets the grave.

A simple counter trap card that proves to be useful against most decks in the metagame these days. I usually has it in my side deck most of the time to be able to counter a few cards that the opponent uses them and depending on the grave for most of the effects. Cards like [Pot Of Avarice] , [Premature Burial] , [Call Of The Haunted], [Dark Magician Of Chaos] and one of the current metagame's favourite monster [Light And Darkness Dragon] revival ability.

It can also be used to protect your own cards in the graveyard from being harmed by your opponent. [Hero's Rule 2] can protect your grave from... [D.D Crow] , [Disappear], [Autonomous Action Unit], [Big Burn] and so on so forth!

Depending on you and your opponent's strategies, this card is good in both your main deck and in the side deck too. It depends on the situations too. =D Ok! Last card next!

4th in place!

DP06-JP025
[Fusion Decimation]
Normal Magic
Discard a [Polymerization] from your hand to the graveyard to activate this card. Select a Fusion monster from the Fusion Deck and send it to the grave, select 1 Fusion Material monster stated on the Fusion Monster and special summon it from your hand. The monster is sent to the graveyard during the end phase of this turn.

This card used when Judai was so scared of using [Polymerization] lol ! But it sure is quite a powerful card to use in decks that depends on Fusion summoning strong monsters but they just do not have the required fusion material monsters in the hand or field. This card can help by summoning big sized and highly powered fusion material monsters from your hand quickly.

A few fusion monsters to use for [Fusion Decimation] will be like... [E-HERO Malicious Devil] , [E-HERO Dark Gaia] or any fusion monsters that has powerful monsters as their fusion materials. Although the monster that was special summoned by [Fusion Decimation] will be sent to the graveyard during that turn's end phase. It is not that big a problem, as most probably this card will only be used as a last resort to finish off your opponent. If you are unable to win him or her in that turn.. Then its most probably good game lol ! But do try it when you guys have thought of more powerful ideas to use [Fusion Decimation]!

Quite sorry again as a few cards here has very short reviews this time >.< .... But we will update again soon on the cards from the [Phantom Darkness] booster pack. Right after Kenneth's exciting review on the remaining cards of the Duelist pack! If you have any questions or feedbacks.. Do contact us at our email address! Thanks! Or just leave a message at the Duel Chat! box at the right hand side of this blog! Till then to my next update! And Good Luck to those participating in Sunday's Upcoming tournament! Goulian Signing off!

Card Rulings : Light And Darkness Dragon

OMG guys! Upperdeck's rulings on our favourite dragon [Light And Darkness Dragon] is out!OMG! The second and third sentence of the rulings is a little confusing for the players. Do ask us if you have any questions. =D.... And phew... It sure is LONG! Picture and Effect below for reference.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

YG01-JP001
[Light And Darkness Dragon]
Attribute: Light, Type: Dragon
Effect Monster, 8 stars, Atk 2800 / Def 2400
This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card is treated as a Dark Attribute while it is Face-Up on the field. As long as this card is Face-Up on the field, the activation of the effects of effect monsters , magic and trap cards will be negated. When this effect is activated, this card's Attack and Defense is reduced by 500 points. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, select one monster in your graveyard to activate the effect. Destroy all cards on your side of the field, and special summon the selected monster onto your side of the field.

Rulings:

“Light and Darkness Dragon’s” first effect is a Continuous Effect that makes its Attributes both LIGHT and DARK while it is face-up on the field.

“Light and Darkness Dragon’s” second effect that negates the activation of Spell, Trap, and the effects of Effect Monsters is a Multi-Trigger Effect. “Light and Darkness Dragon” loses 500 ATK and DEF when its effect is resolved, after negating the activation of the Spell, Trap, or effect of the Effect Monster. This effect can be activated during the Damage Step.

“Light and Darkness Dragon’s” second effect can only activate once during the Chain. If a Spell, Trap, or effect of an Effect Monster is chained to the second effect of “Light and Darkness Dragon”, “Light and Darkness Dragon’s” second effect will not activate again in that same Chain.

If the ATK and DEF of “Light and Darkness Dragon” are less than 500 when a Spell, Trap, or effect of an Effect Monster is activated, the second effect of “Light and Darkness Dragon” will still activate but when it resolves it will not negate the activation of the Spell, Trap, or effect of the Effect Monster because its ATK and DEF cannot be reduced by 500.

The ATK and DEF lost by “Light and Darkness Dragon” from its second effect is applied to its total ATK, including all other gains and losses of ATK and/or DEF. Example: If you use the second effect of “Light and Darkness Dragon” 4 times (500 X 4 = 2000 loss of ATK and DEF) while “Luminous Spark” is face-up on the Field Spell Card Zone, the “Light and Darkness Dragon” will have 1300 ATK and 0 DEF. If “Luminous Spark” is then removed from the field or negated, the “Light and Darkness Dragon’s” would change to 800 ATK and 400 DEF.

If “Shrink” is used to halve the original ATK of “Light and Darkness Dragon”, the original ATK of “Light and Darkness Dragon” is halved to create a new current ATK and then the ATK and DEF lost by the effect of “Light and Darkness Dragon” is reapplied. Example: If you use the second effect of “Light and Darkness Dragon” twice (500 X 2 = 1000 lost ATK and DEF) and “Shrink” is used to halve the original ATK of “Light and Darkness Dragon”, the effect of “Shrink” is applied (2800 / 2 = 1400 ATK) and then “Light and Darkness Dragon’s” ATK is reduced by 1000 (1400 – 1000 = 400) for a total of 400 ATK and 1400 DEF. When the effect of “Shrink” is no longer applied (because the turn had ended, etc.), reapply the lost ATK and DEF to the “Light and Darkness Dragon’s” original ATK of 2800. (In our example, the values would be 1800 ATK and 1400 DEF)

“Light and Darkness Dragon’s” third effect is a Trigger Effect that activates whenever “Light and Darkness Dragon” is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard. This effect targets 1 monster in its owner’s Graveyard. When “Light and Darkness Dragon’s” effect is resolved, you will destroy every card you control and then Special Summon the selected monster from your Graveyard.

If your “Light and Darkness Dragon” is the only card on your side of the field when it is destroyed and sent to your Graveyard, its effect to Special Summon 1 monster from your Graveyard will still activate, even though you control no cards.

If the monster you select to Special Summon is removed from the Graveyard in Chain (by using “D.D. Crow”, etc.), before resolving the effect of “Light and Darkness Dragon”, the selected monster will not be Special Summoned but you will still destroy every card that you control.

When “Light and Darkness Dragon” is destroyed and sent to your Graveyard while you have no monsters in your Graveyard that you can Special Summon, the effect of “Light and Darkness Dragon” will not Special Summon a monster but it will still destroy every card you control.

“Light and Darkness Dragon’s” third effect will activate when it is destroyed while in the hand or the Deck and sent to the Graveyard. Example: “Light and Darkness Dragon” is destroyed by “Crush Card Virus” while in the player’s hand.

If “Light and Darkness Dragon” is removed from the field or flipped face-down, any loses of ATK and DEF from its effect are reset and will not be reapplied when it is returned to the field or flipped face-up.

If “Light and Darkness Dragon” is Summoned or flipped face-up while “Skill Drain” is active, “Light and Darkness Dragon’s” first effect will be negated. Its second effect will still activate whenever a Spell, Trap, or effect of an Effect Monster is activated, but the effect of “Light and Darkness Dragon” will be negated so the activation of the Spell, Trap, or effect of Effect Monster will not be negated and “Light and Darkness Dragon” will not lose ATK or DEF. Its third effect that activates when it is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard will not be negated because this effect activates and resolves while “Light and Darkness Dragon” is not on the field.

If you cannot Special Summon a monster because of a card’s effect (“Scapegoat”, etc.) when “Light and Darkness Dragon” is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard you will not be able to Special Summon the selected monster but you must still destroy every card that you control.

If you cannot Special Summon a monster because all of your Monster Card Zones are forbidden (by “Ground Collapse”, “Ojama Knight”, etc.) when your “Light and Darkness Dragon” is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, the effect of “Light of Darkness Dragon” will not Special Summon a monster but it will still destroy every card that you control.

“Light and Darkness Dragon” cannot negate the activation of the Ignition-like effect of Continuous Spell or Trap Cards (“Ultimate Offering”, etc.) or Field Spell Cards (“Ancient City – Rainbow Ruins”, etc.). “Light and Darkness Dragon’s” second effect activates when a Spell or Trap Card is first activated (placed face-up onto the field or flipped face-up).

When the effect of a Normal Spell Card is activated in the Graveyard due to the effect of “Destiny Hero – Diamond Dude”, “Light and Darkness Dragon’s” second effect will not activate because the Normal Spell Card is not “activated”.

When “Light and Darkness Dragon” negates the activation of a Continuous Spell or Trap Card, the Continuous Spell or Trap Card is sent to the Graveyard. When “Light and Darkness Dragon” negates the activation of “Swords of Revealing Light”, the “Swords of Revealing Light” is sent to the Graveyard.

When the effect of a Spell, Trap, or effect of an Effect Monster is activated while the card is in your hand (“Green Baboon, Defender of the Forest”, etc.), the card will remain in the player’s hand when its activation is negated by “Light and Darkness Dragon”. (you can refer this to [Envoy of Hades - Gors] effect.)

If a monster with an optional Trigger Effect, like “Peten the Dark Clown” or “Infernal Dragon”, is destroyed by “Light and Darkness Dragon”, the timing to activate the effect is missed because immediately afterwards a monster is Special Summoned. The last thing to happen when resolving the effect is the Special Summon of a monster and not the destruction of “Peten the Dark Clown” or “Infernal Dragon”.

When “Light and Darkness Dragon” negates the activation of a Spell, Trap, or effect of an Effect Monster that can only be activated once per turn (“Blowback Dragon”, etc.), the Spell, Trap, or effect of the Effect Monster cannot be activated again because the Spell, Trap, or effect of the Effect Monster is treated as having been activated during that turn. If the effect of the Effect Monster can be activated multiple times during the same turn (“Treeborn Frog”, etc.), the effect of the Effect Monster can be activated again.

If you have 2 or more “Light and Darkness Dragon” face-up on your side of the field when a Spell, Trap, or effect of an Effect Monster is activated, the effect of each “Light and Darkness Dragon” form a Chain, but only the effect of the first “Light and Darkness Dragon” on the Chain will resolve. The other “Light and Darkness Dragon” on the Chain will not negate the activation of the Spell, Trap, or effect of the Effect Monster and they will not lose any ATK or DEF from their effect.

If you Tribute “Sangan” and “Witch of the Black Forest” to Tribute Summon “Light and Darkness Dragon”, the effect of “Sangan” and “Witch of the Black Forest” form a Chain. “Light and Darkness Dragon” will negate the activation of whichever effect is placed second on the Chain.

If the second effect of “Light and Darkness Dragon” is activated and an effect is chained that removes “Light and Darkness Dragon” from the field or flips it face-down, the effect of “Light and Darkness Dragon” will disappear and the Spell, Trap, or effect of the Effect Monster will not be negated.

If “Light and Darkness Dragon” negates the activation of “Twin-Headed Behemoth’s” effect, the effect of “Twin-Headed Behemoth” will not activate again during the Duel.

If the activation of “Destiny Hero – Dasher’s” effect that Special Summons a monster is negated by “Light and Darkness Dragon”, the “Destiny Hero – Dasher” will not be able to activate the effect while it remains in the Graveyard. If it is removed from the Graveyard and then later returned to the Graveyard, it will be able to activate its effect once again.

If “Light and Darkness Dragon” negates the activation of a Spirit Monster’s effect that would return it to its owner’s hand, the effect of the Spirit Monster will activate again during the same End Phase.

“Light and Darkness Dragon” will negate the activation of “Serpentine Princess’” effect when the face-up “Serpentine Princess” is sent from the field to the Deck. (“Serpentine Princess” remains in the Deck)

“Light and Darkness Dragon” will negate the activation of “Mokey Mokey King’s” effect that activates when it is removed from the field, even if it is returned to the Fusion Deck.

If “Light and Darkness Dragon” is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard while being treated as an Equip Card, its third effect that Special Summons 1 monster will activate.

When a monster is Summoned that has an effect that activates at the time the monster is successfully Summoned (“Zaborg the Thunder Monarch”, “Breaker the Magical Warrior”, etc.) while “Light and Darkness Dragon” is face-up on the field, the effect of the Summoned monster will be Chain Link 1 and “Light and Darkness Dragon” will be Chain Link 2. Because of this, it is not possible to use “Pulling the Rug” to negate the effect of the monster if it was Normal Summoned.

If “Light and Darkness Dragon” negates the activation of the effect of “Majestic Mech – Ohka” or “Majestic Mech – Goryu” that activate during the End Phase, the effect of the “Majestic Mech – Ohka” or “Majestic Mech – Goryu” will activate again during the same End Phase. If the effect of “Majestic Mech – Ohka” or “Majestic Mech – Goryu” is activated during the End Phase while “Light and Darkness Dragon” has less than 500 ATK and DEF, the second effect of “Light and Darkness Dragon” will still activate, but it will not be able to negate the effect and the “Majestic Mech – Ohka” or “Majestic Mech – Goryu” will be sent to the Graveyard.

Card Ruling : Heart Of The Underdog

Okay! Due to Yuhang's request, I decided to post the rulings up for [Heart Of The Underdog] for all the players to take a look! The rulings are taken from upperdeck ya! Picture and effect below for reference.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

DR2-EN032
[Heart Of The Underdog]
Continuous magic card
During your draw phase, if you draw a Normal monster card(s). You can draw 1 more card by showing it to your opponent.

Rulings:

Missing the Timing: Suppose you have 3 copies of [Heart of the Underdog] on the field, and draw a Normal Monster Card during your Draw Phase. All 3 copies of [Heart of the Underdog]immediately activate their effects, and because they activate simultaneously, they form a chain with Chain Links 1, 2, and 3. If you draw a Normal Monster card for Chain Link 3 or Chain Link 2, your copies of [Heart of the Underdog] do not activate again. This is because they are “when… you can” optional Trigger Effects, and you “miss the timing” because you drew the Normal Monster Card during a chain and not as Chain Link 1. However, if you draw a Normal Monster Card for Chain Link 1, all 3 copies of [Heart of the Underdog] will activate their effects again.

[Heart of the Underdog] doesn’t only activate if you draw a Normal Monster Card for your standard draw. It will also activate its effect if you draw a Normal Monster Card with a card effect such as [Reload], [Jar of Greed], or [Heart of the Underdog].

When you draw a Normal Monster Card, if you want to activate the effect of [Heart of the Underdog] you have to show it to your opponent immediately. You can’t do anything else in between.

A Normal Monster Card means a yellow card with no effect. A Ritual Monster with no effect is not a Normal Monster Card. A card like [Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon] is not a Normal Monster Card.

When you show a Normal Monster Card to your opponent to activate [Heart of the Underdog], your opponent can chain [Drop Off]. You will have to discard that Normal Monster Card, but [Heart of the Underdog] still resolves its effect.

If you draw multiple cards at the same time during your Draw Phase, such as with [Reload], only 1 of the cards needs to be a Normal Monster to trigger [Heart of the Underdog], since they are all drawn at the same time. If you activate [Reload] in your Draw Phase and draw 5 Normal Monster Cards, your [Heart of the Underdog] only activates 1 time because it says “card(s)”.

Again rulings are taken from upperdeck. To Yuhang: Hope this helps!

Card Review: Torture Golem

Ok guys, its been awhile since my last review. Been mapling too much until I've got not much time to do my reviews. Well, I've decided to do Torture Golem from Johan Duelist Pack.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
「トーチ・ゴーレム」
DP07-JP011 Torture Golem [Ultra Rare]
DARK/Demon - Effect/8/3000/300
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. If this card is played from your hand, Special Summon 2 "Torture Tokens" (Demon/DARK/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) on your side of the field in attack mode and then you must Special Summon this card on your opponent's side of the field. When this card is Special Summoned, you cannot Normal Summon or Set this turn.
*Translation Text taken from http://manjyomethunder.twoday.net*

Lets just jump to the main use of this card. Summoning 2 tokens on your side of the field & summoning this card to opponent's side of the field.
So what's so good about this? Many uses. Using the tokens and another monster for tributes for cards like [D-Hero Bloo-D], or another Demon monster for [Raviel, Lord of Phantasms] since the tokens are Demon sub types too. If you used [D-Hero Bloo-D], equipping the [Torture Golem] from the opponent's side of the field instantly gives your [D-Hero Bloo-D] at 3400 attack. While [Raviel, Lord of Phantasms] would be a big beatstick for opponent to worry about.

This card's uses are of course more than just monsters, there are Magic and Trap supports for it too.
LE7-JP002
Mark of Proprietor
Magic - Normal
Return all monsters on the field to its owner's control.
*Translation Text taken from http://dmcomet.com*

303-047
Freedom From Control
Trap - Continuous
When this card is on the Field, the control of all of your and your opponent's Monsters return to their respective owners.
*Translation Text taken from http://dmcomet.com*

Both of them are of the same effect. So basically, with this two cards, your [Torture Golem] would be considered yours and you would get two free tokens (they are in attack mode however). I know that LE card is hard to get. I personally had a tough time finding it... I couldn't even find one copy! Anyways, I was playing these few cards together with Lava Golem, since those cards somehow synchronise. (Benjamin/Ah Gong's idea, so he die also won't lend me his [Mark of Proprietor] !#$^%^!#!@#)

Its always nice to have a 3k beat stick on ur field stressing your opponent on killing it, while having those attack mode tokens would be alittle bit of a problem since you are not able to normal summon for that turn anymore. So playing more protective magic/traps would also be advisable if you are playing [Torture Golem].
All in all, its still my favourite card out of the Duelist Pack set!

Card Ruling : Bountiful Artemis

Below here is the ruling for [Bountiful Artemis]. Due to a mistake of ruling on Saturday, I decided to find out it's actual rulings and post it here in order not to confuse more players out there. Picture and Effect below for reference

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

EOJ-JP020
[Bountiful Artemis]
Attribute: Light, Type: Angel
Effect Monster, 4 stars, Atk 1600/ Def 1700
When this card is Face-up on the field, draw one card from your deck each time a Counter Trap is activated.

The effect of [Bountiful Artemis] is a continuous effect, and cannot be chained to. You will draw 1 card immediately after a Counter Trap's effect have resolved.

Your [Bountiful Artemis] effect will activate even if your opponent is the one who activated the Counter Trap.

If [Seven Tools Of the Bandit] is used to negate the activation of another Trap Card, such as [Magic Jammer] , you will not draw a card for [Magic Jammer] since its activation was negated.

People using [Bountiful Artemis] , do take note of it's rulings.

Card Review : Phantom Gunman

Hey all ! Long time no see! Goulian here by the way lol ! I was busy preparing for my O lvls and because of that, I was unable to post up any card reviews for like... 1 month plus? Well there is still 2 more papers before I am really free! So since I have some free time at my hands now. I'll do a review on a new card released in Johan's Duelist Pack. The card is [Phantom Gunman]! Picture and Effect below for reference.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

DP07-JP009
[Phantom Gunman]
Attribute: Dark , Type: Demon
Effect Monster , 4 stars , Atk 1100/Def 800
When this card is Normal or Flipped Summoned Successfully, you may Special Summon [Gunman Tokens]( Attribute: Dark, Type: Demon , 4 Stars , Atk/Def 500) equal to the number of monsters you control on your side of the field. During your Standby Phase, you may inflict 300 points of damage to your opponent's lifepoints for each Face-Up monster with [Gunman] in their names on your side of the field. If this effect was activated, in this turn all monsters on your side of the field with [Gunman] in their names cannot declare an attack.

So... The stats for this card is not really too small, an attack of 1100 can be compensated by the its own token producing effect. Tokens for 500 attack points can make it a 1600 attack for that turn, if the only monster you had was [Phantom Gunman] only. Naturally it will produce 1 token at least. Do note that the effect will only be activated only when [Phantom Gunman] was Normal Summoned or Flipped Summoned Successfully. It does not produce tokens when you Special Summon him back from the graveyard or by any other methods.

Ok so lets talk about the Damage Effect now. For each Face-Up [Gunman] monster you control, you are able to deal 300 points of damage to your opponent's lifepoints for each of them. Quite a good effect I will say. Since it's attack points are not very high to start with to be able to defeat the monsters of the metagame these days. An effect to deal direct damage will be good while it is able to defend the controller too. Burn or Stall Decks can consider this. Works well with cards like [Level Limit - B] or [Gravity Bind]. Typical Stall or Burn Deck Cards.

Now again about it's token producing effect. The [Gunman Tokens] are each of 500 attack and defend points. And they belong to a Attribute that is very strong! Dark Attribute. Since they are below 1000 points of attack strength. A card like [Crush Card Virus] in english also known as [Deck Destruction Virus Of Death] in jap will be able to use the [Gunman Tokens] really well. Since they are sort of like a "Free" sacrifice for the card.

Talking about Sacrifices.... I do remember that the [Phantom Gunman] and it's [Gunman Tokens] are all of the Demon Type. And since using this card will be able to generate at least 1 to 2 tokens onto your field. By having 3 Demon Type sacrifices. We can try summoning [Raviel-Lord of Phantoms] using them! Wow that will surely be a very big beatstick! And also speaking about 3 monster sacrifices... We can also use another Great monster that has been around for quite awhile in our metagame. Using 3 sacrifices for our [D-HERO Bloo-D] ! A more powerful effect monster to go in for the kill =D! The [Gunman Tokens] can't be used for [Arcana Force EX - THE LIGHT RULER] though.. Thats sad for me... Because tokens cannot be sent to the graveyard =( ....

This monster also works well with Normal Summoning other high level monsters too. Typically like our favourite dragon these days.. The [Light And Darkness Dragon].. Or maybe even monsters that needs 3 sacrifices to Normal Summon them out. Cards like [Devil's Avatar], [Devil's Dreadroot], [Devil's Eraser] will really make good use of them. Cards that support Normal Summoning too can also work well with [Phantom Gunman] and it's [Gunman Tokens]. Like [Ultimate Offering] and [Second Summon] , granting extra Normal Summoning opportunities to summon out high level monsters. Or... You can simply try using [Cannon Soldier] to deal your opponent some heavy effect damage!

Well thats the end of my review for [Phantom Gunman] , any questions or comments, do tell us at the Duel Chat! box at the right hand side of this site. And its... 2 down! 14 more new cards to go! Do expect another exciting review from Kenneth on the new cards from the new duelist packs!

Card Review: Gem Release

Well guys, its been awhile since the last card review.
This time its gonna be about the new Duelist Pack cards.
I've been getting rather lazy so thats why I'm going to start with such a simple card to review.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
「宝玉の解放」
DP07-JP023 Gem Release [Rare]
This card can only be equipped to a monster with the name [Gem Beast] on the field. Increase the attack points of the equipped monster by 800. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can select 1 [Gem Beast] monster from your Deck, and place it face-up in one of your Magic & Trap Card Zones.

Yes, being a mad hardcore fan of Johan and his Gem Beasts, I'm going to start with a Gem Beast support card, Gem Release.

So what so good about this card? Well, as all of you may have noticed long ago, Gem Beasts were not very high attack monsters to begin with. Giving it a 800 attack boost is really good as it actually enables monsters like Sapphire Pegasus, Topaz Tiger and Amber Mammoth to actually overun those monarchs. Even the Amythest Cat scratches your face for 1000 damage! Ouch!

Second effect of the card is rather good too. Allowing you to select 1 [Gem Beast] monster from your Deck, and place it face-up in one of your Magic & Trap Card Zones is one of the ways to fufilling the effects of Rainbow Ruins and would quicken the summoning cost of Rainbow Dragon.
This effect is good as, a Gem Beast destroyed with this card would automatically mean that you would get 2 Magic & Trap slot Gem Beasts at one go! And we all know Gem Beasts could do many stunts with 2 Gems in the M/T slots.

Well, thats about it. Short review. I felt that this card should have been a super rare instead of Counter Gem as it is much better. Expect more card reviews on the duelist packs. 1 down, 15 new cards more to go. This card is good to use in any typical Gem Beast build. I would suggest running 3 in your gem beast decks! Watch out people! There could even be a 4200 attack Sapphire Pegasus with 3 equipped onto it! Omfg?!

Duelist Pack Thoughts 2

Hey all! Went out with Kenneth and Poh Choon yesterday to get some Duelist Packs! Well we mostly bought the Judai Pack.. And so below here are our share of the new harvest! =D

Yuki Judai's Pack

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Starting from the left... [2x Hero's Rule 2], [E-HERO Hell Sniper], [E-HERO Malicious Devil], [E-HERO Wild Cyclone] and [Armor Breaker].

Johan Anderson's Pack

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Starting from the left... [Grave Squirmer], [Torch Golem] and [Counter Gem]

Do get your share of the Duelist Packs now!

Duelist Pack Thoughts

I personally find that the DP this time is better than the previous ones. Judai's pack this time offers various playable cards. Johan's pack is more for Gem Beast users unless u're going for the Phantom Gunman or Torture Golem only which can be greatly abused with Bloo-D and Ravel. Hand severing would be Colin's favourite to play wif his Protector of the Sanctuary.
The shocking commons for the two packs is:

Swing of Remininsce and Torrential Tribute.

Yay! =D

Card Review : The splendid VENUS

Hey all! Goulian here again! Today's card review will be my "last" card review before I head off to study full-time for my O levels. For my card review today..... I'll be reviewing [The splendid VENUS] card from the Limited Edition 10 booster pack! Picture and Effect below for reference.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

LE10-JP005
[The splendid VENUS]
Attribute: Light, Type: Angel
Effect Monster, 8 stars, Atk 2800/ Def 2400
As long as this card remains Face-Up on the field, all Face-Up Non-Angel type monsters has their Attack and Defence Decreased by 500 points. Furthermore, the Activation and Effects of your Magic and Trap cards cannot be negated.

Cool card ya? Well this card is 1 of the 3 planet cards in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga. The other 2 planet cards are [The Big Saturn] and [E-HERO The Earth] =D... Well okay lets look at this card's stats. It has a good Attack Strength of 2800 points! And an okay Defence Strength of 2400 points. Sounds exactly the same as our favourite monster [Light And Darkness Dragon]!
It also has the same Attribute as [Light And Darkness Dragon]... Light Attribute! So maybe we can always use [Kaiser Seahorse] as a Sacrifice to Sacrifice Summon [The splendid Venus]. Or.... This card being an Angel Type monster, we can also use the [Gelenduo] monster card as a Sacrifice too to Sacrifice Summon [The splendid VENUS] for fast summoning!

As for the Effect of this card. First of all, when this monster is Face-Up on the field, all Non-Angel type monsters all has their attack and defence strength decreased by 500 points. Which means that this monster can kill quite alot of big size monsters with this nice effect. Examples will be like... [Envoy Of Hades - Gors] , [Dark Magician Of Chaos] , [Light And Darkness Dragon] and so on so forth.

As for the second effect of this card, I will be saying that this second effect is whats best about this card! The Activation and Effect of your magic and trap cards cannot be negated! So this might be the monster to fully counter [Light And Darkness Dragon] negation effect. Or even a very irritating monster such as [Horus Black Flame Dragon LV 8]. And your opponent will not be able to also use counter trap cards to negate your magic or trap cards. Such as [Magic Jammer] , [Seven Tools Of The Bandit] and [Solemn Judgement]. But monsters such as [Jinzo] and [Spell Canceller] will not allow either player to activate Magic or Trap cards. So in this case, [The splendid VENUS] might not be able to help you.

As for combos for this card, lets see...... Since your Magic and Trap cards cannot be negated, how about trying to use a card that affects both players? But as [The splendid VENUS] is on the field, your Magic and Trap Cards as safe. So lets try using the card [Royal Decree] , even though [Royal Decree] will negate your trap cards, but since [The splendid VENUS] is here to safeguard your Trap cards. As such your Trap cards will not be negated by the effect of [Royal Decree]. Do note that [Royal Decree] is different from [Jinzo]. You are still able to activate your Trap cards with [Royal Decree] around. But if [Jinzo] is around, you will not be able to activate your Trap cards. So... If you've activated [Royal Decree], feel free to set down Trap cards to protect your monsters! Or even cards that will negate your opponent's cards. Such as [Divine Wrath](to protect your monsters from monster effects) .
Field Magic cards such as [Sanctuary Of The Sky] and [Luminous Spark] will be able to help to power up this card too. So people playing Angel Type or Light Attribute decks, consider [The splendid VENUS]?

So guys, this is the end of my "last" review for this superb monster, anymore ideas or questions to ask, you may post it at the Duel Chat! box there or email to us! And ya, I will not be around to post more often until after my O level examinations are over. So I will surely miss all of the exciting readers to visits our blog! So see ya ! Have Fun And Play Fair! Till next time.. Goulian Signing off!

Card Review: God Beastking Barbaros

Yo Yo! Its Ken in the house again! Its been awhile! Right? Well, nvm. As you all might have noticed. We've added afew more features to this site! So do take your time to take a look k! Now for the card review.
Ok, Since Colin will be doing another card review, I'd be doing this. Especially for Guo Dong as requested on the tagboard =)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

LE10-JP006
God Beastking Barbaros
神獣王(しんじゅうおう)バルバロス
ATK/DEF: 3000/1200
Card Attribute: Earth
Card Type: Beast-Warrior/Effect
Effect: This card can be Normal Summoned or Set without Tribute. In that case, the original ATK of this card becomes 1900. If you Tribute Summon this card by Tributing 3 monsters, destroy all cards on your opponent's side of the field.

Stats: Good stats. Considering it to be an 8 star with 3k ATK is quite big to beat many monsters down. Being an 8 star means alot of things. I'm going to list a whole bunch of combos for this card alone.

Trade In: Throwing this 8 star monster into the graveyard and bringing it back with a revival card is a good combo. Refreshes your hand instantly, thinning the deck down by 2 cards.

Skill Drain: When Skill Drain is on the field, while this card is normal summoned without tributes, it'll have same the ATK/DEF (3000/1200), same thing goes to Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast. Big beatdown.

Revival Cards: Call of the Haunted, Premature Burial, etc. Like mentioned earlier, its the full 3000 ATK.

Metamorphosis: Banned already. But very worth mentioning. Since its first effect is that it can be normal summoned without any tributes, it IS still a 8 Star monster. So you could summon Cyber Twin Dragon, Gattling Dragon, etc.

Light & Darkness Dragon: Everyone's favourite. One of the ways of revival. Since what L&DD brings back is a big 3k beatstick, why not throw this into our L&DD decks?

Enraged Battle Ox: Nothing much about it. Just gives that 3K beatstick trample. OUCH!

Dandelion: Tokens give quick tributes for its Raigeki + Harpy effect. Same goes with the normal Destiny quick summoning engine decks.

Any card that takes opponent's monsters: Same reason for the above. E.g: Brainwash, Creature Swap, Enemy Controller...

Destiny Hero Bloo-D/Plasma: No, not yours, Opponent's. Normal summon without tributes. 3K. Point and Laugh. (Baha's line) =D

Mist King: Look below for the review. Tribute this card for Mist King allows Mist King to have the full 3K ATK of Barbaros.

Plain Beatstick: 1900 ATK is strong too. It can kill Airman!

Gaia Power: Well, adds 500 attack and works for all earth attributes.

Wild Nature's Release: If without tribute, 3100. Other than that, 4200! OMG!

Well, thats about it. I personally find that playing it in a Beatdown or L&DD deck is the best.
Any other combos that you think this card can be played with or is better than any here, well do feel free to share it with me! Comments are always welcomed =)

Until next time, wait for Colin's exciting review on : The splendid VENUS

Deck: Destiny Phoenix!

Ok guys! My final decklist before I head off to dedicate myself to full-time studies for my O levels! As I never got to use a proper [D-HERO] deck before, I tried today playing something of my own style =D! But it is almost like a typical [D-HERO] deck, just that a few cards that might not be in a [D-HERO] deck at all... lol... As again I'll shoot out the decklist and say out the combos that this deck might have later on.

Decksize: 40

Monsters: 20

1x E-HERO Airman
2x D-HERO Defendguy
1x Breaker The Magical Warrior
1x Sangan
1x Magic Striker
1x Dandelion
1x Hand Of Nepthys
1x Magician Of Faith
1x Treeborn Frog
1x Envoy Of Hades - Gors

1x D-HERO Bloo-D
1x Phoenix God Of Nepthys
2x D-HERO Diabolicguy
2x Frost Emperor Morbius
1x Storm Emperor Raiza
2x Cyber Dragon

Magic: 14

2x Destiny Draw
2x Reinforcement Of The Army
1x Foolish Burial
1x Brain Control
1x Heavy Storm
1x Pot Of Avarice
1x Monster Reincarnation
1x Scapegoats
1x Shrink
1x Cyclone
1x Enemy Controller
1x Early Burial

Trap:6

1x Holy Barrier - Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Deck Destruction Virus Of Death
1x Waboku
1x Trap Dustshoot
1x Call Of The Haunted

So here it is above! My decklist that got me 2nd place in Khatib's tournament =D... Althought I lost to G.G last round, but it was a great match! So I had no regrets =)... Ok this deck is typically like a [D-HERO] deck, fast draw strength and quick summoning speed is what this deck has, although there is only 2 [Destiny Draw] , this deck filters fast because of [E-HERO Airman] and [Hand Of Nepthys] (provided that the [Phoenix God Of Nepthys] is in your deck and not in your hand =x)

This deck also has a great number of offense and defense! [D-HERO Defendguy] is there to block almost any attack to allow you to sacrifice it for a stronger monster in the next turn. The [Cyber Dragon] cards are also there to help in the quick speed summoning for the deck.

Some people might ask, "why the [Phoenix God Of Nepthys] for the deck?" The reason is that this deck, I had originally wanted it to be a Magic/Trap zone control deck, so the [Phoenix God Of Nepthys] is there to clear the Magic and Trap cards to allow you to go in for the attack! Not to mention that the 2 copies of [Frost Emperor Morbius] is also there to control the Magic and Trap card zone. They also can help in allowing you to reuse [D-HERO Bloo-D] effect over and over again! So you can say that actually this deck's trump card would actually be [D-HERO Bloo-D]!!!

Well thats the end of the my post for today! Till my next "last" review next week! And oh ya! I've added a new feature to the blog, every week there will be a "Card Of The Week" to be put up there at the right hand side of the blog =D! Hope that it will be able to provide more ideas to the duelists out there that visits this blog! Well Have Fun And Play Fair! Goulian Signing Off!

Card Review : King Mist

Hey all! Goulian here again! Today's review will be on another promo card given in the Value Book 10, if you guessed correct... Today's card review will be on [King Mist] ! A card that "Amon" in the anime used... Picture and effect below for reference.

VB10-JP001
[King Mist]
Attribute: Water, Type: Spellcaster
Effect Monster , 7 stars , Atk 0/ Def 0
If this card was to be Normal Summoned, It can be Summoned with 1 Sacrifice or no Sacrifice at all. This card's Attack Strength , is equal to the combined amount of the Base Attack Strength of the monsters used for this card's sacrifice summoning. When this card is Face-Up on the field, no Sacrifices can be made at any circumstances.

Hmmm... 0 attack strength? o defence strength? A level 7 monster? Seriously is this monster of any use at all? Well guys to tell you all the truth, this card is quite a powerful monster. Even with 0 attack strength, as long you can offer some big size monsters for it as Sacrifice for it's Sacrifice Summoning, It'll be big size too! Note that the "Base Attack" strength of the monsters used is combined to be this card's "Attack" , not "Base Attack". So good news is that, this card even when it is being [Shrink]... It will still be as big size as ever! But you people will not bear to sacrifice your high level and high attack points monsters for [King Mist] right? So... Is there any monsters that when Normal Summoned as a level 4 or below monster, will have high attack points too? Example will be like [God Beast King - Barbaros] and [Futurezord Dragon] as even though they are high level monsters, they can be Normal summoned without any Monster Sacrifices, even though their attack strength will drop tremendously. But when used as Monster Sacrifices for [King Mist] Summoning, it will surely pump [King Mist] up real big! Example for [God Beast King - Barbaros] is that it is from the latest Limited Edition 10 Booster Pack... Picture and Effect below for reference.

LE10-JP006
[God Beast King - Barbaros]
Attribute: Earth, Type: Beast-Warrior
Effect Monster, 8 stars , Atk 3000/ Def 1200
This card can be Normal Summoned without Sacrifices. In this case, this card's Base Attack Strength becomes 1900. If 3 Monster Sacrifices was used to Sacrifice Summon this card, Destroy all cards on your opponent's side of the field.

A powerful Monster Sacrifice for [King Mist] ! Just sacrifice [God Beast King - Barbaros] itself as 1 Monster Sacrifice to Summon [King Mist]... And wow! It surely will be a 3k attack strength monster just like that!

Ok on to the next point, when [King Mist] is Face-Up on the field, no Sacrifices can be made at any circumstances... It may sound as a negative impact to your opponent, but it might also be a threat to yourself too! As you would not be able to summon more powerful high level monsters to give your opponent more whacking! But even if you can't Sacrifice anything to do anything... Such as offering Monster Sacrifices to Summon high level monsters, Special Summoning of those high level monsters is still allowed. And I've tried that even though with [King Mist] stopping me from making Monster Sacrifices, [D-HERO Dashguy] is quite useful in this situation to help you Special Summon more powerful monsters much faster and easier =D ...

This card surely is [Emperor] monster's arch-enemy, stopping them from being summoned out to use their effect and making them stuck in the owner's hand sure is irritating. [Spellcaster] support cards might also be able to help [King Mist] too, like [Dimension Gate] or [Magician's Circle] might be able to help it do well in the duel.

Well this card will die to cards like [Skill Drain] that makes Effect Monsters have no Effect at all, so this card will be totally useless against these kind of cards. But if you want to totally control your opponent, making him/her unable to Sacrifice Summon and Special Summon, I suggest having this [King Mist] and [Fossil Dyna - Pachycephalo] on the field. It'll help in monster controlling your opponent's field greatly. For info on [Fossil Dyna - Pachycephalo] , Do take a look at Ken's card review on it!

I'll leave it to you guys to think about even more powerful combos for this card, any comments or questions , you may post it at the Duel Chat! box at the right hand side of the blog or you can also email to us! Have Fun and Play Fair! =D... Till then.. Goulian Signing off!

Card Review: Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo

Hi its time for another card review!

Yup. Its the new Value Book 10 promo! Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo.

「フォッシルダイナパキケファロ」
VB10-JP002 Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo [Ultra Rare]
EARTH/Rock/4/1200/1300
While this card is face-up on the field, neither player can Special Summon. When this card is flipped face-up, destroy all monsters on the field that were Special Summoned.

Looking at the stats, its not a really nice monster to play as a beatstick. 1200 attack means ALOT of things can kill this small monster easily.

However, this card's effect is really good. It is definitely better than Jougen the Spiritualist because it has an additional effect.

Yup. Its the when it is flipped, NOT just flipped summoned, it destroys all monsters on the field that were Special Summoned. You can combo this with Ceasefire, Desert Sunlight or if opponent activated Swords of Revealing Light. However, it also destroys any of your own monsters which were special summoned too. So be careful when you use this card.

I tested this card and is good to have on the field so that your opponent can't special summon their own Gors when you direct attack them. They can't Premature Burial, return their own Tree Born Frog, Summon another D-Hero Diabolicguy, Special summon Cyber Dragon or anything that has to do with Special summon.

I tested this card with non other than Mist King! Since these two promo cards came together, it would be nice to test them out together too. So, look out for Colin's review for Mist King soon!

E-HERO TAGFORCE Deck!

Hey all! Goulian Here! Its been a long time since I posted up my decklist. So today I'm posting about my most recent deck that is also collaborating with the new banlist being activated! =D
As usual I'll shoot out the decklist and will announce the combos later.

Decksize: 41

Monsters: 20

1x E-HERO Airman
2x E-HERO Ocean
1x E-HERO Wildman
3x E-HERO Another Neos
2x E-HERO The Heat
1x Breaker The Magical Warrior
1x Exiled Force
1x D.D Warrior Lady
1x Sangan
1x Magician Of Faith
3x Magical Merchant
2x Cyber Dragon
1x Dark Magician Of Chaos

Magic: 17

2x Reinforcement Of The Army
2x HERO'S Bond
2x Pot Of Avarice
1x Hope Of Fifth
1x Brain Control
1x E-Emergency Call
1x Heavy Storm
2x Shrink
2x Skyscraper 2 - Hero City
1x Cyclone
1x Enemy Controller
1x Premature Burial

Traps: 4

1x Holy Barrier - Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Trap Dustshoot
1x Call Of The Haunted

Fusion: 3

3x Chimeratech Fortress Dragon

Well ok! Above here is the decklist for the E-HERO TAGFORCE deck! =D Basically this is like an MMPT(Magical Merchant Pot Turbo) deck that uses draw power as source of card advantage. But for this deck's case, Its strong points is abit for the card advantage and the often filtering of the deck through [E-HERO Airman] And [Skyscraper 2 - Hero City] and [E-HERO Ocean] effect also helps in the further filtering of the deck.

The second good point about this deck is that it can beatdown real fast sometimes! Don't see that all are only level 4 monsters in the deck. [E-HERO The Heat] can pump itself real big and powerful through all the [E-HERO] monsters existing on your side of the field. Once you summon [E-HERO The Heat], its already a 1800 Attack strength monster!

As a MMPT format deck, the [Magical Merchant] cards are there for that cause and to thin down the deck by lots and lots (Just hope that you keep overturning monsters for the combo to appear =X) for your [Pot Of Avarice] or [Hope Of Fifth] to be able to activate.

If you notice that this deck has near to 0 quick monster destruction cards (example will be like [Smashing Ground] or [Fissure] etc) but there is a 2 copies of [Shrink] and a copy of [Enemy Controller] to protect your monsters real well for you to make back a counter-attack. =D
The simple Counter-Attack will be like waiting for your opponent to make his move, while on the next turn you can activate [HERO'S Bond] to special summon 2 [E-HERO] monsters and go in for high-powered whacking! And oh ya did I mention that you can also activate [HERO'S Bond] even if you do not have any [HERO] monsters on your field? A good guess will be that if you saw your opponent having a [HERO] monster on his/her field such as [D-HERO Diskguy] or [E-HERO Malicious Edge], you can also activate this card to special summon 2 [E-HERO] monsters to your side of the field.(Do note that [HERO'S Bond] can only special summon 2 [Elemental Hero] monsters)

Well this deck will die to [Raiou] or [Nobleman Of Crossout] cards... Cause searching is not allowed when [Raiou] is on the field =( ,which is a sad case.. Oh well... There are a few cards that I am considering to put inside the deck! Cards will be like [HERO Signal] and [Warfront Compensation] which is for Special Summoning of monsters quicker =D

And if you see your opponent has high attack machine type monsters on their field... You can always "Together We Shall Rule The World" and Special Summon [Chimeratech Fortress Dragon] to smack them in their face! Mwahahahahaha!(I'm Thinking too much, don't mind me)

Well I'll be improving this deck abit more when I have the time =D So do tune in to us to find out more about it! Any comments or questions you can ask at the Duel Chat! Box at the right side there =)... Till next time.. Goulian Signing Off!

Combo Review: Good Goblin Housekeeping + Emergency Provisions

Yo all! Its Ken in the house again. Since its been days we've actually posted something interesting for you guys to read, I'm going to write some random yet useful crap.
Today I'm going to share wif u guys a very very very old combo.
Its the Good Goblin Housekeeping + Emergency Provisions combo.

Pictures:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Effects:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DR3-EN174/FET-EN054/EE3-JP174/FET-JP054 (see I'm this FREE to do all the numbering)
Good Goblin Housekeeping/ゴブリンのやりくり上手 (and the japanesey words too)
Normal Trap
Draw a number of cards from your Deck equal to the number of "Good Goblin Housekeeping" cards in your Graveyard +1, select 1 card from your hand, and return it to the bottom of your Deck.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DB2-EN150/LOD-033/LOD-EN033/TP6-EN012/BE2-JP150/DL5-031/SC-33
Emergency Provisions/非常食
Quick Play Magic
Send Spell or Trap Cards on your side of the field except this card to the Graveyard. Increase your Life Points by 1000 points for each card sent to the Graveyard.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, since its just been less than a week since the new banlist has been activated. One of those cards to hit the un restricted to 3 list was Good Goblin Housekeeping. So how do we actually do this combo? VERY SIMPLE!
Chain 1, 2 & 3 Good Goblin Housekeeping + Chain 4 Emergency Provisions all of your Good Goblin Housekeeping that are on the chain. Understand? Too chim? Ok let me explain it in simpler terms.
Since Good Goblin Housekeeping has drawing + 1 more of each copy of itself in the grave, you can use Emergency Provisions to send all of them into the graveyard before letting your chain 1, chain 2 and chain 3 resolve. Basically, you WILL draw 4 cards from your deck and place one back down to the bottom of the deck for each resolving Good Goblin Housekeeping! In fact, its as good as drawing 9 cards.
Most people would probably say, "aiya, this combo can do den say lor" but hey, using this wif 2 Good Goblin Housekeepings on the chain wif Emergency Provisions is already gay enough. Drawing cards and Gaining life is always a good thing too right? I personally tested this card and felt they shouldn't have unrestricted it. People may say... but theres two Jinzos around! Ok tell me, just how many people really actually went to play 2? I know of some. But not all right? And even if theres Jinzo, there is Chimeratech Fortress Dragon u know. Well, dun be offended by any of my comments. There are just plain noobish comments from me afterall! =D

P.S. If you're really gonna play 3 copies of Good Goblin Housekeeping, please remember to play more than ONE copy of Emergency Provisions. =)

Card Rulings: Chimeratech Fortress Dragon [キメラテック・フォートレス・ドラゴン]

Here are rulings for Chimeratech Fortress Dragon.
Especially for those who still believes this card cannot use your opponent's monsters.
Taken from http://ocgjp.blog19.fc2.com/

Translation:
Chimeratech Fortress Dragon Ruling Summary

This card is not possible to use as a fusion material itself.
> The effect type is an effect of the rule. (e.g. 'Exodia')
> It is applied when it is face down (e.g. wif 'Book of Moon') and the graveyard.
> 'Skill Drain' does not make it invalid.
> It is not possible to send Chimeratech Fortress Dragon itself as a fusion material to special summon another Chimeratech Fortress Dragon.

When the above-mentioned fusion materials ("Cyber Dragon" + 1 or more Machine-Type monster) which exists on the field is sent to the graveyard only, it is possible to summon Chimeratech Fortress Dragon from the fusion deck specially.
> It is also possible to send to the graveyard the monster on your opponent's field.
> You can send your own face down monsters to the graveyard.
> You cannot send your opponent's face down monsters to the graveyard.

This original attack power of the card in numerical value is ×1000 points of how many monsters which was used as a fusion material.
> The numerical value decided in this effect is made twice in 'Megamorph' and half in 'Shrink'.

- Thx Baha for helping me out with this.

Deck Review: Fortress Gadgets

Yo! I hope those who came for the GreenRidge tournament had fun. Although there was a change in entry fee and prizes, I'm sure he'll do something about it soon.
So, because Keith wanted to try out DestinyRaida I lent those cards to him to play, so I built this deck out.

Deck Name: Fortress Gadgets

Monsters: 16
Green Gadget x 2
Red Gadget x 2
Yellow Gadget x 2
Cyber Dragon x 3
Proto Cyber Dragon x 3
Raiza The Storm Monarch x 2
Death Calibur Knight x 1
Sniper Hunter x 1

Magic: 16
Limiter Removal x 1
Nobleman of Crossout x 1
Smashing Ground x 1
Fissure x 1
Swords of Revealing Light x 1
Cyclone x 1
Heavy Storm x 1
Early Burial x 1
Pot of Avarice x 2
Book of Moon x 1
Brainwash x 1
Hurricane x 1
Hammer Shot x 1
Shrink x 2

Traps: 10
Call of the Haunted x 1
Mirror Force x 1
Tidal Wave x 1
Ceasefire x 1
Sakeretsu Armor x 1
Bottomless Trap Hole x 2
DNA Surgery x 3

Fusion Deck:
Chimeratech Fortress Dragon x 3
Chimeratech Over Dragon x 3
Cyber End Dragon x 3
Cyber Twin Dragon x 3
Gattling Dragon x 1

The deck idea was built around the normal Gadget Control deck by splashing in Proto Cyber and DNA Surgery. Quite simple to play. Although Gadgets do get killed by opponent's fortress dragon, u can always stop it wif book of moon and bottomless OR by asking opponent if they have any fusion pile like what I did yesterday. Bwhahaha @ u noobs for not buying 3x Fortress Dragon. The DCK in the deck can be increased too. It can stop ur Avarice for being DD crow-ed or for stopping Gors and stuff. There will definitely be a need to recycle those Fortress Dragons! There was a Raiou in the deck but I edited the deck alittle and took it out. Basically, this deck can put up a fight wif L&DD as it has many traps. Jinzo won't be much for a problem since theres 3 CyDras and Proto CyDras and Shrinks. I tested this deck out yesterday and got to 4th/3rd. Was already happy wif the results but DS-sama didn't quite like the built as it wasn't violent enough! I had side-decked his favourite Card Gunner, Future Fusion & Overload Fusion. Anyway if theres any Fortress combos to look for, you can always visit http://duelingdays.blogspot.com/ for DS-sama's Cyber Evolution Deck.

I should be further improving this deck. So comments are always welcomed! =)
